≫ the first time i saw 𝐙𝐒𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚π₯ 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐀 with my own eyes (almost 4 years ago), i was in tears. i was so overwhelmed by the beauty of it all - the massive and insanely tall red rocks, the trees, the wildlife, the ridges and cliffs, the sound of the Virgin River flowing through it all... ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ i'd seen pictures of @zionnps, but i guess i kind of expected to get there and have it be an "Instagram vs. #reality" type of adventure. ⁣⁣⁣ it was so far from that. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ i went with the intention of hiking π€π§π πžπ₯𝐬 π‹πšπ§ππ’π§π , but when we arrived, the weather had changed drastically from what the forecast predicted. it was raining and about 42 degrees... we decided to make the trek up, anyway. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ about half-way up, we hit the chain area, which is probably the most intimidating part of that hike. you're literally holding on to ice-cold metal chains, whilst you try to keep your balance while trying to cross the most narrow parts of the ridge. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ thousand-foot drops on either side... i was terrified to say the least. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ it started to snow. i was shaking with fear, but also with excitement. i remember telling my friend how alive i felt and how aware i was that i was a mortal being. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ when we finally made it to the top, it was the epitome of #breathtaking views. it was still snowing and there were higher than average winds, but i don't remember feeling cold. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ i felt petrified, but not from fear. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ i was in my mid-20s and thought i'd seen so many "cool" things already in my life, but being up there was different. you can't achieve this feeling by looking at a photo someone else took. in fact, not even looking at my own photos did this place justice. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ this was a π•—π•–π•–π•π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜. ⁣⁣⁣ all 5 senses were being utilized and were all in overdrive. i felt small, but also so close and connected to Her 🌎⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ there are very few places i've been that have taken my breath away the way Zion has so many times. if you haven't been yet, i highly recommend you go. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ mad respect for our Mother, xx ⁣⁣⁣
