≫ i love supporting brands that strive for sustainability and have a meaningful, impactful philanthropy. when i first learned about @palaeyewear, i had heard about their missions in Africa - saying i was intrigued was an understatement. ⁣ ⁣ very rarely do i come across a company that checks so many ethical and eco-boxes, but @palaeyewear truly does. ⁣ ⁣ there are over 253 million people, globally, who do not have access to eye care and Pala is working to help bridge that gap. ⁣ ⁣ not only are they working on providing people access to eye care, but they're also on a mission to end poverty and support and empower women, all while working to protect our environment. ⁣ ⁣ each Pala case is uniquely handmade by a traditional weaver from one of three rural communities in Bolgatanga, Upper East Ghana. as Pala grows, more people are being taught to weave, creating a new sources of income for the women in these areas. ⁣ ⁣ furthermore, each case is made from completely recycled plastic and waste. this waste is collected, washed, melted and re-purposed into the plastic that is then woven into Pala's unique cases.⁣ ⁣ their newest campaign is the #IndieGoGo, which is geared towards expanding their range of frames made from more sustainable materials (bio-acetate and recycled acetate), and to fund a brand new outreach project in Ethiopia, which will provide vital training and eye care to patients in disadvantaged areas.⁣ ⁣ i hope you'll check out the INDIEGOGO campaign so you can see what Pala is all about. i'll be posting the link to the campaign page with additional info on my stories!⁣ ⁣ and by the way, the glasses are SO cute and SO comfortable. i wore them the entire time we were in Mexico and i didn't get one "sun headache" the whole trip. // #sponsored #palapartner
