Thinking back on some #wishes I’ve made, looking at the progress of my life - my year. Acknowledging some of the #goals I’ve crushed in 2019 and recognizing that I’ve completely failed when it comes to some of the resolutions I put in place at the end of 2018. (Although, certain “failures” really are only pushes in a different direction; resetting the path or reframing your approaches).
I wished for more #freedom and stability. I wished for continuous #growth, health and #happiness in my relationship with James. I wished I had more control over certain aspects of my business. I wished we could travel more. I wished for James to see exponential growth and additional opportunities in his career. I wished, I wished, I wished. And then... we worked our 🍑🍑s off to make those wishes a reality. As 2019 takes the leap into the second half of the year, I’m beginning to realize the differences we’ve made on our paths. I wished for a lot, but I worked for even more. As did James. Together, we’re starting to see it all come together and it’s even better than what we envisioned in our talks and bathtime #brainstorm seshes.
One of the biggest #lessons I’ve learned this year (that I’m still trying to fully grasp) is how to be a great teammate (and overall partner). How to let someone HELP you when you need it - even if you don’t necessarily want it. Sometimes, it takes some major changes to show you what’s most important and nudge you into a new set of mind. Perspective. Gratitude. Reflection. And a lot of LETTING GO of what doesn’t (or no longer) serve(s) you. Although I’ve learned so many things this year, accomplished so much (and failed just the same), the thing that’s sticking to me the most is: WISH INTENTIONALLY. Wish realistically. And then, put in the work so you can get what you really want. Couldn’t be more grateful to get to experience this #metamorphosis with any other human. @jamesprobst thanks for showing me how to be a butterfly, even though I was SO comfy in my little cocoon. 🦋
